Team Information:
Who We Are:
Nemesis Robotics is a Non-School affiliated team. Remington Haingaertner is the only team member on the team. November 14th 2016 he was in a high speed moped collision, which killed his friend and only teammate. In the tragic accident, Remington also lost his right foot. He was able to get a prosthetic and funding before his first competition. However, he had one month to design, build, and program is robot.
Remington was able to complete his robot for the competition. He placed 20th in the qualifying matches, and was picked to got to the finals. He lost in the finals, thinking his season was over. The Arkansas State Championship did not have enough teams to compete. They then took the top 15 from the skills competition. Remington had placed 14th in skills. He quickly registered for the State Championship.
During the State Competition, everything that could have gone wrong did. Every match the robot was not working. With the help of Team 66A, Nemesis Robotics was picked to go to the finals. In the finals the robot was working perfectly. Remington's team was undefeated in the finals and took 1st place. This opened a spot for the World Championship.
At the World Competition, Remington was the only teammate. It was a struggle to do everything without help. Every match ended badly. The World Championship was a lot harder than regional competitions. He wound up raking last in his division, but was given the Judges Award.
